Today's Christian thought: Thursday November 6th, 2003
Well as of yesterday, the ban we have fought so hard for, the ban on partial birth infanticide is now in the form of a law. A law against performing the horrific practice of turning a baby in the womb, delivering that baby 98% and then killing that baby. But already many are resting on their laurels while the pro-abortion crowd has already found two federal judges, one in Nebraska and one in New York who have said the ban is unconstitutional and issued injunctions against its implementation. My brothers and sisters, it is time to pray.
We need to pray, for the baby in the womb is faced with some very powerful foes, the foes who togther make up what I am coming to think is the beast, government. Let me see if I can explain why I say that. First, I think we all agree that we are in the end times, and in the end times there comes into power the beast. This beast is prophesied and talked about in the Book of Revelation, in Chapter thirteen we read, in the KJV:
1 ¶ And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. (Revelation 13:1-3 KJV)
Notice in the KJV, which I consider the most correct of any of the versions of the Bible, the beast is referred to by the pronouns of his and him. Now let's look at the same verses in Young's Literal Translation Bible.
1 ¶ And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and I saw out of the sea a beast coming up, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon its horns ten diadems, and upon its heads a name of evil speaking,
2 and the beast that I saw was like to a leopard, and its feet as of a bear, and its mouth as the mouth of a lion, and the dragon did give to it his power, and his throne, and great authority.
3 And I saw one of its heads as slain to death, and its deadly stroke was healed, and all the earth did wonder after the beast. (Revelation 13:1-3 YLT)
Notice that the KJV and Young's don't disagree on anything other than the pronoun describing the beast, the KJV uses him and his, Young's uses its. Which is right? Or are they both right?
Actually they are both right, you see the Greek word used as the pronoun referring to the beast can be translated either as his and him or it. Now, think about it, if him, he, his, and it are all correct. Could it be that what the Apostle is describing is both a government, it, and a man, him and his? This would not be the first time in the Bible that a pronoun that could be translated he, him, his and/or it was used when describing both a man and a group. Look at Genesis 3:13-15 first in the KJV and then in Young's. Again I will underline nouns and pronouns.
13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, "The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat."
14 ¶ And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. (KJV) * her seed is accepted as referring to the Messiah.
Now Young's literal:
13 And Jehovah God saith to the woman, `What is this thou hast done?' and the woman saith, `The serpent hath caused me to forget--and I do eat.'
14 ¶ And Jehovah God saith unto the serpent, `Because thou hast done this, cursed art thou above all the cattle, and above every beast of the field: on thy belly dost thou go, and dust thou dost eat, all days of thy life;
15 and enmity I put between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; he doth bruise thee--the head, and thou dost bruise him--the heel.' (Young's Literal)
God refers to Jesus as both it and his in the KJV, yet in Young's it is he and him. Why? Once again, God chose to use a Hebrew pronoun that can be translated either him, his, he, or it. A person or a group. In the instance of the book of Revelation: I find the 'him and his' to be the one world leader Beast of tribulation times and the 'it' to be government up until the time that we are raptured. Look at Second Thessalonians and notice that Paul refers to the beast as a man, immediately after the rapture of the church.
3 ¶ Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only He(Holy Spirit) who now letteth will let, until He(Holy Spirit) be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked(the beast) be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: (2 Thessalonians 2:3-8 KJV)
When you read Second Thessalonians, you realize that the beast is here before tribulation but is not revealed until He who restrains the evil in the world, the Holy Spirt, is withdrawn back to heaven at the same time the church is raptured. Once identified, it then appears that the beast is a man, as described in Daniel. That said, now let us go back to our example in Genesis 3:15 where God refers to His Son Jesus as He, Him, His and It. Whose heel does satan hurt? Is it just the Lord's heel or is it both the Lord and His church, all Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians? Who crushes satan's head? The Lord or the Lord and His church through prayer and His Holy Angels led by Michael? Do you see that He, Him, and His refers to the Lord and It, refers to the Lord's church and His angels.
Now one more bit of Scripture and then I am going to make my final point and close.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; (Ephesians 6:10-18)
Paul tells us that: we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Doesn't that sound like government to you?
We need to be: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; for this battle to end abortion is far from over. Satan is not going to give up the blood sacrifices made to him by his high priest the abortionist, just because congress and the President have signed a law. No, satan will fight tooth and nail in his courts using his judges, his lawyers, his politicians and his media to keep the blood flowing, to keep the sacrifices being made to him.
What do we pray for? We pray that the Lord will strengthen those in government that are His and that He will challenge the clergy. Challenge the clergy to either produce Scripture showing that all babies who are killed by the abortionist go directly to heaven, or to start fighting abortion knowing that many, if not all of those babies are destined for eternal damnation. For I can find no Scripture that says that all babies killed before they are born go to be with the Lord God of Creation.
Once you and the clergy have searched the Scriptures and understand that all the babies murdered while trapped in their mothers' wombs are not automatically destined for life eternal with the Lord, then you can start to see the horror of abortion. Ask yourself and your pastor this question: "Why would satan continue to have babies aborted if all the babies killed are going to heaven? Since when is satan in the business of reaping souls for the Lord?"
The Lord be with you all and may our Lord steer the courts to look to save babies not kill them. And may He give the forces of good in government the strength to carry on and may He put fear and exhaustion in the hearts of those who continue to fight for the right to offer little human babies trapped in the womb as blood sacrifices to satan. Amen.
Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush and Michael have, they, Rush, Michael and their audiences need the Lord.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
The Lord be with and bless you all and may you all keep this very important point in mind. It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
Lord I would also ask You to be with my friend Mac, and for the salvation of Michael Savage and Rush Limbaugh. Amen.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
