Today's Christian thought: Wednesday November 12th, 2003
Yesterday we looked at the question "why does God want you to pray?". Today, let's look at a word, and let us not follow in the footsteps of former US President, William Jefferson Blithe Clinton, let us not say "It all depends on the meaning of is..." Let us instead search our hearts, our souls, and our knowledge of the word of God.
So, what is Sin?
And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, "Lie with me." But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, "Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?" (Genesis 39:7-9)
Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. (Matthew 12:31)
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." (John 1:29)
Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. And early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came unto Him; and He sat down, and taught them.
And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto Him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, they say unto Him, "Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest Thou?"
This they said, tempting Him, that they might have to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down, and with His finger wrote on the ground, as though He heard them not. So when they continued asking Him, He lifted up Himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up Himself, and saw none but the woman, He said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
She said, "No man, Lord." And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. (John 8:1-11)
But all these things will they do unto you for My name's sake, because they know not Him that sent Me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin. He that hateth Me hateth My Father also.
If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both Me and My Father. (John 15:21-24)
As Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians, if you live by this, you'll be ok. Jesus said: "go, and sin no more." Sin is anything you do, say, think, or even dream that offends God.
If you understand that we, all of us, are lower than whale dung at the bottom of the sea. We are pond scum and sinners, and none of us are deserving of salvation. That not one of us even comes close to being worthy of having the Lord God Creator of the universe shed His Blood for us, and that everything that is good comes from Him, that we not only owe our lives to Him, but our salvation as well, than you should never want to do anything to offend Him in any way.
Learn from one of the worst sinners in the Bible, David. David sinned every chance he got, but what David did is repent. David sinned, David repented. Do likewise. But remember, David tried not to sin as well, but being human, he sinned. And the absolute worse thing that you can ever do is deny God. For the sin of denying God is the sin that will eternally damn you! If you never take anything else to heart, that I have said or written over the past six years, take this to heart and soul. But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 10:33)
Lord give us a humble spirit, and help us to never ever sin against Thee, but as we do, please forgive us. Amen.
Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush and Michael have, they, Rush, Michael and their audiences need the Lord.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
The Lord be with and bless you all and may you all keep this very important point in mind. It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
Lord I would also ask You to be with my friend Mac, and for the salvation of Michael Savage and Rush Limbaugh. Amen.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
