Ever heard anyone say "Don't be so pushy" or "Take your preaching some where else" or "That's ok for you, but leave me alone"? Sure, we who take the Lord seriously when He said "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15) hear something like that more often than we care to remember. But those who say it today are not the first and they certainly will not be the last. Let's look back at one time when God addressed this very same problem. You see, Samuel was having a bad day, he felt rejected. And God explained something to Samuel that we who get rejected today need to keep in mind.
1. And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel. Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beersheba. And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment.
Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah, and said unto him, "Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations." But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, "Give us a king to judge us". And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.
And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them. (1 Samuel 8:1-7)
And it is the same today, it is not us they reject, it is God they reject. And when that happens today, I think I feel every bit as badly as Samuel did back 3,070 years ago. And like Samuel, I too am comforted by the words of God "...for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them." And like Samuel, all we can do when that happens is pray to the Lord, just as Samuel did. But, let us ask God to open their eyes and soften their hearts, for the horrors of eternal damnation are all too real and all too close for those who reject the Lord.
Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush and Michael have, they, Rush, Michael and their audiences need the Lord.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
The Lord be with and bless you all and may you all keep this very important point in mind. It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
Lord I would also ask You to be with my friend Mac, and for the salvation of Michael Savage and Rush Limbaugh. Amen.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
