Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's

Wow, it has now been 41 years today, since John Kennedy was shot dead. John Kennedy, a former president of the Untied States was shot dead in Dallas, Texas 41 years ago today. When Kennedy was shot he had a 28% favorable rating, he was about as well thought of, in the Military as was John Kerry. Yet, two seconds after he was pronounced dead, you would have been hard pressed to find anyone willing to say anything less than complimentary about him.

What you ask, does Kennedy's assassination have to do with Luke chapter twenty? Plenty, for you see, well before the doctors pronounced Kennedy dead, God had. And Kennedy found himself knelling before God Almighty. Well, in Luke 20 we are going to find that God is not going to let Kennedy slide on his acts of adultery, treason, lying, stealing and failing to give His life to Christ, just because he was the president of these United States. For God is no respecter of person.

Luke Chapter Twenty

And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as He taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon Him with the elders, and spake unto Him, saying, "Tell us, by what authority doest Thou these things? or who is He that gave Thee this authority?"

And He answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer Me: The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men?

And they reasoned with themselves, saying, "If we shall say, 'From heaven'; He will say, 'Why then believed ye him not?' But and if we say, 'Of men'; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet." And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was. And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

Then began He to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time. And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty.

And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty. And again He sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out.

Then said the lord of the vineyard, 'What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him.' But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, 'This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.' So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?

He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, "God forbid."

And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on Him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that He had spoken this parable against them. And they watched Him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just(ordinary) men, that they might take hold of His words, that so they might deliver Him unto the power and authority of the governor.

And they(the spies) asked Him, saying, "Master, we know that Thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest Thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly: Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no?"

But He perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye Me? Shew Me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, "Caesar's." And He said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's. And they could not take hold of His words before the people: and they marveled at His answer, and held their peace.

Then came to Him certain of the Sadducees(liberals of the Sanhedrin), which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked Him, saying, "Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children. And the second took her to wife, and he died childless. And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died. Last of all the woman died also. Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife."

And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. For He is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto(due to) Him.

Then certain of the scribes answering said, "Master, Thou hast well said." And after that they durst not ask Him any question at all.

And He said unto them, How say they that Christ is David's son? And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, THE LORD SAID UNTO MY LORD, SIT THOU ON MY RIGHT HAND, TILL I MAKE THINE ENEMIES THY FOOTSTOOL. David therefore calleth Him Lord, how is e then his son?

Then in the audience of all the people He said unto His disciples; Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts; Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation. (Luke 20:1-47 ACP/KJV)

Now, as you probably guessed from the first part of the thought, I have no great fondness for assassinated president Kennedy or any Kennedy for that matter. I have no respect for men who cheat on their wives! Adultery is not a sin that is spur of the moment, adultery is a cold, calculated plan to betray ones family. If a man or woman will connive to cheat their own family, what makes you think they are even capable of caring about you or me?

Of all of the parables that Jesus spoke, probably the one that caused the Sanhedrin, the high mucky mucks of the Jews, to hate Hm the most was the parable of the husbandman and the vineyard. For you see, they knew that the Vineyard owner is God. They knew that the husbandmen where them, those God left in charge of His peoples spiritual needs. And they knew that they and their ancestors had killed the prophets, and that they has corrupted God's teachings by their own traditions and writings. And they knew that Jesus was the Son fo the Most High God, the Heir. And they understood that in taking away the vineyard from them, He was going to give it to others, the gentiles. And they hated the gentiles.

And they knew that had to kill Him. For with the statement: "Master, we know that Thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest Thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly: ..."

With these words "neither acceptest Thou the person of any" they were acknowledging Jesus as the Son of God, the Heir, was standing in their way. They knew and were confessing that as long as He was alive to rule, they would have no better chance than Kennedy, for God would not welcome anyone into His heaven because of their position on earth.

President, preacher, priest, rabbi, judge, cop, king or emperor, they would have no special significance in front of God. For just as the lowest minion of earth must be Born Again to see the kingdom of God, so much the highest mucky muck. Unlike the Kennedy clan, I do like the Bush clan, but my like or dislike will neither get anyone into or keep anyone out of God's kingdom. And while He will most assuredly one day say to me, "welcome good and faithful servant", what He will never say to me is: "hey Bob, should we let this one or that one in?"

No, just like me, one must be a confessed bond servant of God, one who has given his or her life to Christ by their own individual action. For God could care less about earthly rank. As a matter of fact, having earthly rank may make your judgment even more severe. For in Luke 20 we also find these words:

"...Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts; Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation."

Beware of Supreme Court Judges who walk in long robes looking for praise from man. Beware of politicians who walk in fancy suites looking for applauds from man, beware of preachers, priest, rabbis and others who preach not the word of God and His Word, looking for accolades of men. "the same shall receive greater damnation."

No, position, title, money, fame, or how men and women perceive you will get you any where with God, for He sees not the outer man, but the inner. He does not care about your wealth, your fame, or your position in life, for no matter how famous, wealthy or highly placed you are, your life is but a puff of wind in His eyes. All that counts is one thing and one thing only. And that one thing is not your title, your wealth, or the fancy words that come out of your mouth. It is whether or not you are true Born Again Washed in the Blood of Jesus Christian.

For Jesus said, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

"Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's." Give the government your tax dollars, but give God your life and your 100% loyalty.

May the Lord understand the importance of Mac and Cecily to this ministry. Lord I need them both healthy and able to continue to hold up their ends. Lord this cancer of Mac's is starting to get in the way, this ministry needs him whole, just a thought Lord, is all it will take, just a thought on Your part.

There is a young man, a veteran who suffers from some kind of chemical weapon exposure, in a Veterans hospital in Colorado, he is young, and he is saved, yet his wife just abandoned him. Please pray for him, Lord, help him and deal with her and those who hurt him, we ask this of the Father in Your name Lord Jesus, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with and bless you all, amen.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."

Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush, Sean and Michael have, they, Rush, Sean and Michael and their audiences need the Lord.

Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.

The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.

It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
