Let us say that you went to the lumber yard and bought a 8 foot 1X12 piece of clear pine board. A 12 foot piece of wood with no knots or other imperfections in it. You took that piece of wood home, sanded it smooth on all four sides and then cut it into pieces suitable to make a rocking chair for your son, daughter or grandchild. After cutting out the pieces, you glue and screw them together, and then apply a coat of his or her favorite colored stain or paint. Once finished you hang it out to dry. Then after 24 hours you take it down and admire the work of your hands. Now, let me ask you this. Assuming you did it in your own home, that all the tools and everything else used were things you owned outright, who owns that rocking chair?
You bought the tools and materials, you used your sweat and knowledge to build it, you sanded it painted it and hung it out to dry, so whose is it?
When the jews were trying to trap Jesus they asked Him if they should pay taxes.
Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle Him in His talk. And they sent out unto Him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, "Master, we know that Thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for Thou regardest not the person of men. Tell us therefore, What thinkest Thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?"
But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye Me, ye hypocrites? Shew Me the tribute money.
And they brought unto him a penny. And He saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
They say unto Him, "Caesar's". Then saith He unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's. (Matthew 22:15-21 ACP/KJV)
But, what is Caesar's? Remember the rocking chair you made? What is yours?
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Genesis 1:1 ACP/KJV)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:1-3)
Every thing that was ever created was created by God, so whose is the chair? Whose is the coin? Whose are you? What is God's since He made you, Caesar, the wood, the gold, and all things that ever were made.
No, you don't own the chair and the government doesn't own the money, for all things were created by God for God's pleasure. For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: (1 Colossians 1:16)
Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush and Michael have, they, Rush, Michael and their audiences need the Lord.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
