I had started writing this thought at the beginning of the week, but had a myriad of problems. How many times does that happen to us? We have all the great intentions but then the deceiver starts putting little stumbling blocks in the way. Anyway, here it is, Thanksgiving night and I am trying to get this done to send to Bob so he can send it on to Mac and get it on-line tomorrow.
Did you take time today to think about your blessings that you should be thankful for? You need to if you haven't. I could bore you all silly with a long list of those things that I am thankful for. It would sound like the academy awards and that is not why we are here. I will only list two things.
First and foremost is being thankful for my Lord. Have you really told Him how thankful you are that He would send His Son, Jesus Christ, to take all the sins of the world onto His back and die for us? As we think about that let me call you to the words of the Psalmist in Psalm 100.
1: Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2: Serve the LORD with gladness: come before His presence with singing.
3: Know ye that the LORD, He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
4: Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.
5: For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.
If any of you are ever near me while I am singing you will know how dear verse one is to me. I hope the Lord feels that I am making a joyful noise. Actually I could not carry a tune in a paper bag, but sure enjoy singing praises to Him.
Verse four is the one that stands out to me. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving. What a great opportunity, to come to the Lord not grumbling and griping, but singing praises to Him and blessing His name.
The second thing I wanted to list is my family. What a blessing I had to be raised by the parents God gave me to. Granted, there were many problems, but no greater parents for me were on this earth. Then, almost 35 years ago He decided I needed to meet a young lady from Kentucky. The joy being part of Janice's family has been truly a blessing. Yes, there are plenty of hiccups, as Pastor Bob can tell you, but I am blessed with them. I had the opportunity to have dinner today with my 90 year old father-in-law, 83 year old mother-in-law, two of Janice's three sisters and four of their five children. I also helped prepare a breakfast for our own family, four daughters, a son and a son-in-law. What a blessing it was today to be able to share something as intimate as a meal with them.
I pray that as we work our way through the feasts, you will also develop that longing to share something as intimate with our Lord as a feast, no matter if it is a spiritual or physical feast, it will be the most fulfilling meal you can have.
In closing I would like to leave you with a quote from Mary Washington, George Washington's mother: Remember that God is our only sure trust. Amen.

May the Lord understand the importance of Mac and Cecily to this ministry. Lord I need them both healthy and able to continue to hold up their ends. Lord this cancer of Mac's is starting to get in the way, this ministry needs him whole, just a thought Lord, is all it will take, just a thought on Your part.
There is a young man, a veteran who suffers from some kind of chemical weapon exposure, in a Veterans hospital in Colorado, he is young, and he is saved, yet his wife just abandoned him. Please pray for him, Lord, help him and deal with her and those who hurt him, we ask this of the Father in Your name Lord Jesus, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with and bless you all, amen.
The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
