Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009 Yes, federal, state, county, and local cops need Christ too John 14:6 Keyword: death
Each year, since the mid 60's, the rift between the police and the Patriot community has widened. That rift has widened even deeper and faster between the police on the Federal, State, and County level and the Christian Patriot community. But gentlemen, they too are going to one day die, and it is a fate no one can avoid. Death is even more certain than birth and taxes. Death is an absolute truth, all are going to face it. And all are then going to face Christ.
I don’t know how we are going to do it. I have no idea how I am going to even try to do it, but we must all try to reach out and introduce to Christ those who we consider our enemies. We must introduce Christ to the servants and enforcers of those in the body politic that hate us and are trying to destroy us, our children and our faith in the Christ. We must, for as horrible as they seem to us to be, as dedicated to their jobs as they are, as much as they disdain us, we are charged, as Christian men, with at the very minimum telling them about Christ and the only plan of salvation.
Jesus has said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” John 14:6 He has commanded us: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” Mark 16:15&16 He has bluntly said: “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3 Speaking as God about Himself, Jesus warned and promised: “That whosoever believeth in Him(Jesus) should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him would have the one and only way to be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:15-18
Gentlemen, we have no choice. We must find a way to reach out to the police. Their eternity and our obedience to Christ is at stake.
They are not going to trust us, and they are going to try and use us, but that is their way. Why should they trust us anymore than we trust them? We as Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians have Christ protecting us. With us we have mighty angels, but they are alone or they have a demon from satan, one that trembles at the very name of our Lord Jesus, with them. Jesus has told us through the pen of His earthly half brother James in James 2:19, “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” He has told us that the demons quake at the very thought of Jesus. They know He is real and they know that one day He is going to send them out of the bottomless pit and into the lake of fire where they will be tormented for all eternity. It is those self same demons that we are leaving the police to.
Today as I go about my daily chores, including talking to one or two pastors about showing the movie “The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry”, I will be asking them to pray about how we can reach out to the police on all levels. This means the dreaded BATF and FBI as well as those who are really our neighbors, and should be our friends, on the State, County, and local police forces.
I am afraid that as we do this, we may very well be putting our families at risk, so stay close to the Lord. Go to Him in prayer with each and every effort, contact, and step. Some of us will end up in jail, beat up or maybe even worse for our efforts, but we must do this. God has impressed upon my heart the importance of reaching out to these lost souls.
We have and support missionaries to the muslims. Are our own police any more dangerous than the muslims? Are the souls of our own police worth less to us than the souls of the muslims? We pray for the salvation of the muslims, even the muslim usurper in the oval office, yet we leave the souls of the local police to satan and his demons.
How many cops come to your church? How many cops are involved with your Bible studies? How welcome would a cop in uniform wearing a gun be in your church on Sunday morning for Bible study, Sunday School or the Morning Service? Kind of funny, many of us are welcome in the church and our brothers’ homes wearing guns, but a cop in uniform would totally disrupt the service. Men would move between the cop and their families, men would loosen up their coats so as to be able to draw more easily. Yes, I am sorry to say, we have determined in our own minds that the police, on all levels, are the enemy or at the very least the servants and enforcers of our enemies.
As I think of my own evangelizing over the past fifteen or so years, as I stand before Christ, with a smile on my face and all the crowns I have earned in my hands, He might very well say to me “Bob, why do you not have even one crown for a police officer?” Gentlemen, I have never, not once, not once in my entire life that I can think of, even tried to reach out to a member of a police force. Not once, that is how deep seated my distrust of them is.
I would not hesitate for even a moment to accompany a militia member fifty miles into the woods to preach Christ. I would not hesitate to go into a prison or even into the house of one on the run to preach Christ. I go into gun shops, to town dumps, even into places that cause my stomach to ache, but I have never sat down in a coffee shop with a cop to even so much as mention Christ.
There is a woman 200 yards beyond my house, her name is Debby. When Debby was selling hot dogs, when she was a waitress, all was fine, but now she is a local cop, things have changed, not so much on her part as mine. Now I distrust her, I am guarded in what I say, I keep an eye out for when she comes and goes and the number of unmarked cars that go past my house to get to hers. I used to invite her and her kids to things at our church. She and they never came, but I at least asked. Now I don’t, now I haven’t even invited them to see the “Secrets of Jonathan Sperry”, a movie I consider the best evangelical tool this side of the Bible. I used to pray for Debby’s salvation, but I cannot tell you when the last time I mentioned her by name to the Lord was.
Yes Lord Jesus, You have impressed on my heart the importance of reaching out to the police. Lord, I have no idea how to go about this chore You have given me. I have brought it to the attention of all You send to read these thoughts, and perhaps with their help we can reach out to the police. Perhaps with your help Lord Jesus, not all of them will have to spend eternity separated from You. Lord, please help me and them, help us reach those who we are so distrustful of. Help us to do the work You have assigned us. Help us Lord for without Your help and guidance we are as lost ships at sea along a rocky coast in a storm. You, Lord are our Light House. Amen.
