Liberals, even back in the time of Isaiah they were a people of ill repute, morally corrupt if not bankrupt, a people out to destroy the basic fiber of humanity with their hatred of the Lord and all that was and is good. A people to be avoided if at all possible. A people God referred to as liberals.
As you may have noticed, I was missing yesterday and late today, and I have an excuse, maybe not a good one, but an excuse just the same. As you see, we got a bit of snow and that fine young fella up there pushing through the snow with the old snow blower is me. I'm not sure who is older, me or that snow blower, but this you can believe, neither of us was ready for and up to the storm we got over the weekend. The weather guessers were saying 10 to 12 inches with most on the coast. Well as it turned out, the coast got 12- 18 inches and we inland got anywhere from 18 inches to 50 inches in Pinkham Notch, NH. We here in the Harrison/Bridgton Maine area got 32 inches according to the US Weather Service, but they being government, may or may not be telling the truth.
Anyhow, there are times when as I read and study the word of God, that I can't help but wonder if it is Israel He is talking to or the US or both. Isaiah chapter thirty two is one of those places.
¶The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful. For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practice hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail. The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right. But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand. (Isaiah 32:5-8)
In the above verses we see the Lord God Creator of all things talking through His servant the prophet Isaiah. He is talking about liberals, look at the way He describes them: they speak vilely, their heart works iniquity, they are hypocrites, and utter lies against the Lord. They use lies to turn the poor and hungry away from the Lord, the things they use are evil, and there will come a time when God will judge them for these things.
Doesn't that sound like the liberals in government and in the media today? They use lies, deceit, twisting of the truth, name calling, extortion to get tax money. That take that extorted tax money and after skimming a bit for this ne and that one, they sue some of it for food stamps, welfare, social security and other government hand out programs to turn the trust of the poor and hungry from God to them.
They insult and lie about God and His word by honoring homosexuals, lesbians, pornography and idolatry. They use the power of their office to lie to people convincing many that there is no difference in religions, that the god of islam and the God of Christianity are one and the same, that all are going to heaven and that those who preach the Word of God, as He spoke it in His Book the Holy Bible, are religious fanatics, hate mongers and are to be scorned. Yet they will honor a US Senator who uses profanity in the press to describe the president.
As one who reads the Bible literally and takes it as God's absolute word, I am two things, first I am one of those the liberals despise and second I believe that those verse in Isaiah are to both Israel and the USA. The Lord be with you all, amen.
Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush and Michael have, they, Rush, Michael and their audiences need the Lord.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
