Ok, but that was last year and this is this year, and once again we are faced with the dilemma of what do we get the One Man who really does have everything. For, once again, as we read John chapter one, we find that all things are His:
In the beginning was the Word(Jesus), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same(Jesus) was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him(Jesus); and without Him(Jesus) was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:1-3 ACP/KJV) So, everything that was made, everything that was ever created, in heaven and in and on earth, was made by Jesus. And you say, "ya, so what?" well, Scripture goes on to tell us a little about ownership of all things ever created.
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son(Jesus):
In Whom(Jesus) we have redemption through His(Jesus) blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who(Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the Firstborn(Jesus) of every creature: For by Him(Jesus) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him(Jesus), and for him(Jesus):
And He(Jesus) is before all things, and by Him(Jesus) all things consist. (Colossians 1:12-17 ACP/KJV) So, not only did Jesus create all things, He created them for Himself. So, all things are His. Therefore, what do you give the One who has everything? Last year we determined that the first thing you should give the Lord is you. Remember? But what about this year? Can we give the Lord ourselves again? Re-wrap our old sinful selves and go to the Lord again, asking for forgiveness, asking to be part of His family again? Well we could, but I have another suggestion for you this year.
Last Friday Pastor Steve did the thought about kids and parents, not little kids and parents, but older mature kids and their responsibilities to their parents. Before I continue along that line I want to show you a little hint the Lord has given us about what He would like for this years CHRISTmas gift.
When the Son of man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory: And before Him shall be gathered all nations: and He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
And He shall set the sheep(Saved) on His right hand, but the goats(unsaved) on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, "Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave Me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave Me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took Me in: Naked, and ye clothed Me: I was sick, and ye visited Me: I was in prison, and ye came unto Me."
Then shall the righteous answer Him, saying, "Lord, when saw we Thee an hungred, and fed Thee? or thirsty, and gave Thee drink? When saw we Thee a stranger, and took Thee in? or naked, and clothed Thee? Or when saw we Thee sick, or in prison, and came unto Thee?"
And the King shall answer and say unto them, "Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren(Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians, for they are the brothers and sisters of the Lord Jesus), ye have done it unto Me." (Matthew 25:31-40 ACP/KJV)
Do you see that last part? The part about, What you do for another Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian, you are actually doing for the Lord? Now, before I make my point and my suggestion to you, for what you could give the Lord Jesus this year, for His 2,004th birthday gift, let me show you just a little more Scripture, and then, if you haven't already figured it out, I'll go ahead and articulate my suggestion.
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, "Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled"; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? (James, the half brother of Jesus, 2:14-16 ACP/KJV) Ok, so, what can you give the Lord this year for His birthday? How about helping one Christian in need. Let me make some suggestions.
Let us say you know of a Christian family that never can quite make ends meet. Go to your pastor, ask him to go to that Christian family to find out exactly what their shortfall weekly is, let us say it is ten dollars. Can you give them, through your church, ten dollars a week? What if it is a Christian family where the dad works and the mom is home and they just don't have the money to hire a baby-sitter for a few hours of 'get away alone time, can you take care of their six, seven or eight kids for a half night or a Saturday? How about if you are out of work and you know of a family in need of a Christian woman to help with caring for a handicapped child or as is the case of Pastor Steve and his wife Janice, elderly parents. Can you take less money and help out? Even if it means moving?
How about if you are in need of help in caring for a family member, can you pay a little more to a Christian woman and maybe help her with home schooling her child or children instead of going to the secular world and getting a certified by the government CNA?
Guys, what about the Christian guy who works and works and works so that his wife can stay home and homeschools, can you go cut the grass? Till the garden? Paint the house? How about the Christian elderly man, can you take him fishing? Drive him to the doctor or dentist, or take just him out to lunch or to a movie?
Christian kids, can you help a Christian friend with their homework? Can you help that little ole lady or man in church with a few hours of moving things around for them or even just going and listening to them rant on about the good ole days?
You don't have to wait till you can pay off a family's entire debt load to help, small amounts of money, food, clothing or even your time can get most Christian families over the hump. And who are you really giving that gift of yourself to? Jesus, that's who. For when you help one of His, it is Him you are helping.
And you know, one more thing you could add to that list is helping your Pastor, Pastors are so overwhelmed these days that anything you can do for him that saves him a little time will be greatly appreciated, not only by him, but by his wife and kids as well.
Do you have any idea how much time Pastor Steve puts in each week to do the weekend thought? Do you have any idea how much it helps me for Pastor Jim to do one thought a month? Do you know what a savings it is to me for Mac to have been proof reading for me for almost eight years now? Jesus does, and these things done by Steve, Jim, Mac and others puts a smile upon His face.
Don't you think it is time for you to give something back to the Lord, something that will put a smile on His face? For CHRISTmas this year, find a Christian brother or sister and help them over the hump, for other than your giving your life to Christ, there is no better gift than to help one of His little ones in need.
Jesus, I thank you for all of those You have sent to help me over the hump.

May the Lord understand the importance of Mac, Cecily, Steve, and Rev. Jim Marstaller to this ministry. Lord I need them both healthy and able to continue to hold up their ends. Lord this cancer of Mac's is starting to get in the way, this ministry needs him whole, just a thought Lord, is all it will take, just a thought on Your part.
There is a young man, a veteran who suffers from some kind of chemical weapon exposure, in a Veterans hospital in Colorado, he is young, and he is Saved, yet his wife just abandoned him. Please pray for him, Lord, help him and deal with her and those who hurt him, we ask this of the Father in Your name Lord Jesus, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with and bless you all, amen.
The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
