Thank God for Steve,
Today we are going to take a hard look at Romans chapter one. We are going to look at it from the perspective of prophecy, not just Paul writing to the Romans of his day. Today is just a glimpse, then after CHRISTmas we will be coming back to Romans.
Romans Chapter One
1 from: Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, 2 which He had promised afore by His prophets in the holy scriptures, 3 concerning His Son Jesus, Christ our Lord, *who was of the seed of David according to the flesh; 4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of Holiness (see Matthew 3:16&17, Luke 3:22 and Isaiah 11:22), and by the resurrection from the dead: 5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, by His name: 6 Among whom are ye also the called by Christ Jesus:
7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. 9 For as God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of His Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers; 10 Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a successful journey, by the will of God, to come unto you.
11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be more strongly confirmed; 12 That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.
13 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto(forbidden from/hindered),) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles. 14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. 15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, but also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.
18 *For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 *For the invisible things of Him, from the creation of the world, are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 *Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 *They that exchanged the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creation more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them(all identified in verses 18-25 and again in verses 25b thru 31) up unto vile affections(unnatural, degenerate passions especially inordinately vile affections and lust).
for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly(shameful, contrary to nature), and receiving in themselves that recompence(just penalty) of their error which was meet(due them).
28 And even as they(all identified in verses 18-25 and again in verses 25b thru 31) did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate(debased and degenerate) mind, to do those things which are not convenient(fitting, correct or natural);
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, bad character; whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, truce breakers, and unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. (Romans 1:1-32 ACP/KJV)
verse 2b; *who was of the seed of David according to the flesh; Who on His earthy mother's side was a direct descendant of King David as it must be according to prophecy.
Verses 18&19 *God's wrath is upon men who know that God exists, but refuse to worship Him; mankind that insist on following ungodly ways and practice Biblical unrighteousness, even though they know that God exists through God's very creations, see Genesis 1:1, yet they turn from Him.
Verse 20 * invisible things of creation such as air, gravity, water, the placement of the sun so that we neither freeze nor burn up. All these things are the invisible things of God, things we take not mind of in our daily lives. The very fact that we do not have to think to breathe but that it is an invisible automatic, is proof positive of God.
Verses 21-24 * those who in their own minds, writings, actions and/or speech who changed God into and made Him equal with things God created, God allowed their minds and actions to be such that they accept and do things which are contrary to nature and natures law(s).
Verse 25 *this is all those who refuse to preach that salvation is only through what Christ Jesus did on the cross, that it is only through being a Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian can anyone ever get into heaven. This verse is in reference to all who even imply that there is any way to heaven other than through the creator of heaven, Christ Jesus. When you hear; "I believe" and it is followed with anything other than the plan of salvation as outlined in the Bible, then you know you are reading or listening to one identified in this verse.
Verses 26b&27 *the phrase "natural use of the women" does not mean simply women becoming lesbians. No, it means much more, it means women leaving the natural use that God created them for. God created women to be submissive to their husbands, keepers of the home, raisers of the children, and supporters to and for their husbands. He did not make them to be soldiers, policemen, firemen, lawyers, shop keepers, prostitutes, porno stars, or any of a zillion other things that society now tries to steer women into, and out of their God given roles. This leaving of the natural use by women, may be a result of male homosexuality or it may be one of the causes of male homosexuality. Whichever, once again God uses the act of male homosexuality as an example of degenerate and evil thinking and behaviour. Men turning from having sexual relations with women to having sexual relations with other men is so contrary to God's law and the natural way of things. This is demonstrated by the simple undeniable fact that God created women in such a way that a woman can do everything for a man sexually that another man can do, plus have vaginal sex and have children. That God uses male homosexuality as an example of serving, believing, and obeying another god other than He, is further evidence of God's dislike like for the abominable behaviour of homosexuality. God said: Go forth and be fruitful and replenish or fill the earth, this can not be done to two men.
One thing we, as ones who believe that the Bible is the word of God, need to keep in mind concerning the act of male on male homosexuality, is this.
God has used male on male homosexuality explicitly to denounce sexual sin. Let me explain. God has used Leviticus 20:13, the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, and Romans chapter one to highlight unrepentant sin and the punishment that accompanies it.
In Romans one, God goes out of His way to tell of us of things past, present (at the time of the writing in 55 AD or so), and things of the future (times after the time of the writing).
Romans one articulates many other sins and consequences of sin, but it is male homosexuality and the changing of the natural role of women that God, through the pen of Paul, seems to be using as an example. A careful reading and study could lead one to think that women changing the natural use of their bodies could be a response to the challenge of male on male homosexuality.
Now before one thinks that the phrase "women did change the natural use" means simply lesbianism, it would do one well to ponder long and hard on just what is meant, biblically, by "the natural use of women".
Biblically a woman's role is to marry, love, serve, and help her husband while raising a family, not go out into the world and join the army, be a cop, lawyer or other out of the home worker. And certainly not to be a topless dancer, immodest with behaviour or dress, or anything other than being her man/s helpmate.
While it can be justifiably and truthfully argued that all sin separates man from God, it is very apparent to any that read the Bible that there are some sins that God uses as an example. Male on male homosexuality is certainly one of those sins as is idolatry and the practice of abortion and/or infanticide.
Why is male on male homosexuality used as an example? Well it could be because God designed women to be man's sexual partner and He has designed a woman to be able to do for a man everything that another man can do plus one more thing. Only a woman can have vaginal sex with a man and bring forth children. For no man can have vaginal sex with another man and bring forth children. This foolish exchanging of a woman for another man results in, amongst other sins, the phrase, "giving over to a reprobate mind" for one has to be reprobate to want to knowingly disobey God.
The above thought is a very brief part of what is turning out to be a very long Bible study on the role of men and women in the Bible, one I will probably never finish in the brief time I have left on earth. That is not to imply that I expect to die soon, it is simply a statement to show that it could take a hundred plus years to really understand all that God created men and women to be.
As we approach the time we celebrate the birth of our Lord, I can think of no more fitting gift to Him than to commit to studying and doing that which He has given us in His book, the Holy Bible. This first chapter of Paul's letter to the Romans is a lot more than just an admonition against homosexuality, it is a warning to parents, husbands, brothers, uncles and preachers as well.
Take a careful look at verses 5 and 6 for a minute 5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, by His name: 6 Among whom are ye also the called by Christ Jesus: Notice verse six, it is not just the apostle Jesus has called, it all who profess to be His. This is not only done by preacher, it is done by mothers teaching their daughters to be women of God, women who use their bodies as God has created them. It is a call for men to teach their sons to be men. It is not, as some would claim, an order or allowance for women to be pastors.
Romans one is, starting in verse 21 a picture of what a non Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian preacher will be like and preach. Are you starting to see the gems that are in Romans one? Are you starting to see why I say I may not have enough years left to finish everything that is in Romans chapter one?
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you all, may He continue to bear with me and help me with answers to my questions. May He continue to forgive my sins and keep me protected under His mighty right arm, and may He do the same for all of you who are part of ChristianPatriot.com.
And Lord may You particularly bless Cecily, Steve and my mentor Pastors. Amen.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
