December 21st, the shortest daylight day of the year.

Wednesday December 21st, 2005

Just think, only four more days till CHRISTmas. Four more days, and we who celebrate the birth of the Lord will be in full celebratory mood. How sad it must be to sit on the side lines and watch the celebration go by for some cooked up, fanciful, denominational garbage reason.

So, for those of you who say, "bah humbug," go away, this thought is not for you!

Over the last few thoughts, I have made CHRISTmas gift suggestions, some for you to give the Lord and some for the Lord to give to you. As if Jesus needs my suggestions, but, being one really spoiled little adopted brother, I oft times take it upon myself to make recommendations to Jesus. Why once I even heard Him lean over and say to the Father, "We need to keep an eye on Bob, heaven only knows what he'll come up with next. maybe we had best give him two guardian angles."

So, if I am so bold as to make recommendations to Jesus about what He should give us, meaning you and me, for His birthday, why should I be quite when it comes to making suggestions to you about what you should give the Lord for His birthday? Again, if you are one of those who sits out CHRISTmas this thought is not for you, go away, this is none of you business, go on down to Target or Home depot or the Disney store. Go hang around with other CHRISTmas ignorers.

OK, here we go, what to give the Lord for His birthday. Well, if you are not Saved, the best gift you can give Him is you. But, if you are Saved, a true Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian, then this is what you can do for the Lord for His birthday. And I absolutely guarantee you that He will love it and you for it and put a smile on His face.

Take a Christian who can not get out on his or her own CHRISTmas shopping, to the doctor, or where ever they have to go.

Take a Christians kids for a few hours so dad and mom can go CHRISTmas shopping and maybe even have the time to have a cup of hot chocolate together.

Invite a lonely Christian to your home for CHRISTmas dinner.

It is still not to late to call your Pastor and ask him if there is anything you can do for anyone in the church to help them on CHRISTmas day.

Get the point? See my drift? Maybe a little pep talk from the Lord would help:

Lord, it is me, Bob, got a minute or two?

"Yes Bob, For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them. And I notice that Warren is in the other room."

Thanks Lord, now would You have anything to add to what I have said above to get the guys all psyched up?

psyched up?, hmm, yes I do;

And I shall set the sheep(Saved) on My right hand, but the goats(unsaved) on My left. Then shall I say unto them on My right hand, "Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave Me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave Me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took Me in: Naked, and ye clothed Me: I was sick, and ye visited Me: I was in prison, and ye came unto Me."

Then shall the righteous answer Me, saying, "Lord, when saw we Thee an hungred, and fed Thee? or thirsty, and gave Thee drink? When saw we Thee a stranger, and took Thee in? or naked, and clothed Thee? Or when saw we Thee sick, or in prison, and came unto Thee?"

And I shall answer and say unto them, "Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me."

Then shall I say also unto them on the left hand, "Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave Me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave Me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took Me not in: naked, and ye clothed Me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited Me not."

Then shall they also answer Me, saying, "Lord, when saw we Thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto Thee?"

Then shall I answer them, saying, "Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to Me." And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. (Matthew 25:33-46 ACP/KJV )

There you have it guys, in the Lord's own words, so get out there and do something nice for a brother or sister and get yourself on the right hand of the Lord.

Lord Jesus, thank You for making it so easy for us to do something for You for Your birthday that is as easy as baby sitting a couple of Christian kids so their dad and mom can go CHRISTmas shopping for them. Amen.

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
