Today's Christian thought: Monday December 22nd, 2003
One of the most heinous blights upon the earth today is the blight of anti-Semitism. The hatred of the Jews just for being Jews. And yet, the end to anti-Semitism for those who deny Yeshua as Messiah is not all that hard. As a matter of fact it is really quite easy. Anti-Semitism is not brought to the Jews because of those who hate the Jews, it is brought to the Jews because the Jews ignore God. I would challenge anyone reading this or any of the preceding or following thoughts in this series dealing with anti-Semitism to show me Scripture to the contrary.
Today we are going to look at one of the most hated, by the Jews and liberal so called Christians, of God's prophets to the Jews, Isaiah.
Isaiah Chapter 48
¶ Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness. For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is His name. Oh yes, the Jews of today call upon the name of the Lord, but, only on their terms.
I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of My mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass. Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass; I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, "Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them." Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them. God has, through His prophets and Scripture foretold the Jews of all things. He did this because He knows that His chosen, the descendants of Israel are stiff necked, stubborn, insolent, and will give just about anything credit instead of giving credit to Him. They will give credit to science and something called mother nature, but not God, never God.
They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them. Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from that time that thine ear was not opened: for I knew that thou wouldest deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb. God knows His people, He knows them better than they know themselves, but for His sake He doesn't just eradicate them, He doesn't just wash His hands of them and select another people.
¶ For My name's sake will I defer mine anger, and for My praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off. Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction. Now the above verse is key to anti-Semitism, "Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction." God is still working at refining His people, but not as a metal is done by heating it in fire, but by afflicting His people. And How is that affliction done? God places in the hearts of other people a hatred for the Jews, for no other reason than that they are Jews. Anti-Semitism.
For Mine own sake, even for Mine own sake, will I do it: for how should My name be polluted? and I will not give My glory unto another. Hearken unto Me, O Jacob and Israel, My called; I am He; I am the First, I also am the Last. (See Revelation chapter one)
Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and My right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together. All ye, assemble yourselves, and hear; which among them hath declared these things? The LORD hath loved him: he will do His pleasure on Babylon, and His arm shall be on the Chaldeans. I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him: I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous. God created all things, and He is not willing to share the credit for anything created with any false idol, god or science or some fabrication of the heathen mind called mother nature. The Jews ignore and turn from God to all these other things so God raised up the Babylonians and the Chaldeans, He placed in them a spirit to fight against the Jews and to conquer them, He did it not to enrich them, but to chastise His people, the Jews. He gave them the spirit of anti-Semitism.
Come ye near unto Me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and His Spirit, hath sent Me. This is the prophet Isaiah quoting the Messiah, Y'shua, Jesus.
Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. O that thou hadst hearkened to My commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea: There it is, in the above verses we see the way for the Jews to end anti-Semitism. Turn back to the Scriptures and the study of God's word, stop ignoring His word and stop concentrating on traditions and commentary, go to the Holy Scriptures and seek the truth about God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Turn back to the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob and God will once again smile upon you.
Thy seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels (body) like the gravel thereof; His (Y'shua) name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before Me. Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, "The LORD hath redeemed His servant Jacob (The Jews)." God is making it very clear, very clear indeed that if the Jews will go back to seeking Him, worshiping Him, studying the things He has told them through His prophets, that He will give them rest from their enemies, that He will protect them and give them time to study and to find Him, He is further admonishing them that they should not have ignored Him when He came in fulfilment of the His prophecies of His coming.
And they thirsted not when He led them through the deserts: He caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: He clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out. There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked. In closing God reminds the Jews that when they wandered around in the desert for 40 years, He took care of them by being with them. The He is both God the Son, Y'shua and God the Holy Spirit.
It never ceases to amaze me on how a Jew will study to ace his bar exam, to pass his medical boards, to be at the top of his CPA class, but when it comes to studying the word of God, the Holy Scriptures, they can't be bothered. Well, if the Jews of today really care about ending anti-Semitism, then they have only to turn back to the word of God, the Holy Scriptures. Not commentary, but the word of God, the Divine, inspired word of God, not mother nature, not science, not idols and F-16's, but the word of God, the Holy Scriptures.
As we come ever nearer to the day we celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus, let us not forget that He chose to come as a Jewish baby. So let us redouble our prayer efforts for the Jews.
Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush and Michael have, they, Rush, Michael and their audiences need the Lord.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
