Today's Christian thought: Friday December 26th, 2003
Well, in less than a week it will be New Year's, January 1st, 2004. Way back in the late 40's, that is the 1940's, my teacher said, "Write down 2000 and then under it write down the year you were born and subtract." I remember thinking that I would never live to be that old, but here we are approaching the year 2004 and I'm still here. As we enter this year of 2004, I don't know whether to say "Thank You Lord for giving me another year here on earth to serve You." or, "Lord, I'm tired. My feet hurt, my eye sight and hearing are failing. I'm overweight, due for another one of those prostrate exams, missing a few teeth and ready to come home. So Lord, what have I done so bad that You're keeping me here?"
I guess I'll open the new year by saying: "Thank You Lord for giving me another year here on earth to serve You." But, I will probably add, "But Lord if You get it into Your mind that this would be a good time to Rapture Your Church, I'm ready." But, then I will probably add another PS to that prayer by saying: "On second thought Lord, I need more time. For as I walk around Stoneham and Oxford, Harrison and So Paris, Norway, Louisville Kentucky and Albuquerque New Mexico, I see and hear how much more work there is to be done. So Lord if You could hold off on Rapture for a bit longer, I do still have lots of Your work to do."
Maybe this year the Lord will take it into His mind to reveal to me the answer to one of the greatest mysteries I have ever run into. The mystery of why it is that so many people who are so much smarter than I can't seem to understand two things. How it is that they can not understand that Jesus is God, that He, the Father and the Holy Ghost are one and the same. The second great mystery in my mind is how it is that so many can read John 3:3 and not accept that Jesus meant exactly what He said in these few words: "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3 ACP/KJV)
So, in six days it will be New Year's, News Year's day 2004, 2004 years since the world changed the way it records dates because of the birth of one little baby, a little baby that so many want to love and be with, but refuse to obey. Maybe over the next six days, the Lord will help me understand what it is that He would have me pledge to do throughout this next year, hope it isn't giving up fudge.
Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush and Michael have, they, Rush, Michael and their audiences need the Lord.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
