Thank God for Steve,
This morning I have to be across town for my flight physical by 10 AM. So, by necessity, this has to be a short thought.
A few days back, my morning Bible study led me to Isaiah chapter 33. I found a verse, yet I didn't write its location down and as a result, while remembering the verse, I could not remember where I'd found it. Well, praise the Living God, this morning, after and during prayer and during my study of Numbers 22-25, God the Holy Spirit led me back to it.
For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; He will save us. (Isaiah 33:22)
Let's look at it as it is written in Young's literal translation: For Jehovah our judge, Jehovah our lawgiver, Jehovah our king--He doth save us. (Isaiah 33:22 Young's literal translation)
What does it mean and why have I chosen it as the verse to live my life by? First let's look at the meaning:
Parts a,b,and c are pretty easy to understand, they mean exactly what is apparent, Jesus is our Judge, Lawgiver, and Sovereign and Exclusive King.
Part d is better read and thought of as Jesus is the one and only one who can offer us and grant us salvation. Look at the word "save": yasha`, yaw-shah' is a primitive Hebrew root; more properly understood as; to be open, wide or free, i.e. (by implication) to be safe; causatively, to free or succor:, avenging, defend(er), deliver(er), help, preserve(er), rescue(er), be safe, bring(ing) (offering, having, granting to whom He will) salvation, Save(-iour), get, allow(ing) victory through. As a side note, notice that the Hebrew word for save is "yasha", the Hebrew word for Jesus is Yeshua.
So, part "d" of verse 22 would be better read: He and only He can offer us salvation and determine if we are truly saved and therefore give us true and everlasting salvation, by including our name in His Book of Life.
So, my life verse, the verse in which I will henceforth strive to live my life by is: For the LORD is my judge, the LORD is my lawgiver, the LORD is my king; He and only He can save me. (Isaiah 33:22 personalized paraphrase from the ACP/KJV)
By the way, did you know that Numbers 22 has a lot to do with our series on husband and wife relations and relationship? It does, but that is for another day. Let it suffice for this day to say that God knew exactly what He was saying and meant exactly what He said in Genesis 3:16b. Let me give you something to ponder if you are going to jump ahead to Numbers 22 on your own, the ass can be looked at as both the wife and the husband in the proper marriage setting. A marriage where a husband knows and abides by his role, and a wife knows and abides by her role, will survive regardless of the outside forces, but step outside those God ordained and ordered roles and your marriage will suffer, if not fail.
Lord grant my physical goes well and give me the courage necessary to do what we talked about this morning. Amen.
Sha'al shalowm Yruwshalaim.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
