Resolutions for 2008

Nehemiah 5:13a Tuesday, January 1st, in the year of our Lord 2008
Lord help us to this year make our new year’s resolutions as salt covenants to You. Gentlemen and ladies, let us go to the Lord, asking Him to accept our new year’s resolutions for 2008, not as the heathen do, but as we as true Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians should do, as salt covenants to Him and in His name.Father in heaven, I come to You with these our promises to do in the coming year: Father I pledge to pray each day and to read my Bible each day. I cannot and will not take this pledge so lightly as to promise or pledge a specific time, but I will assure You, I pledge to You, I promise to You, and make this salt covenant with You that if You will hear my prayers, bless my prayers, and guide me to do what is right in Your sight, I will, in each 24 hour period, come to You in prayer and get to know You and Your word better by reading Your word, the Holy Bible. I do this freely and with forethought in the name of Jesus and through the Holy Spirit that dwells within me, Amen. ...

Why not Romney?

Revelation 21:8 Thursday, January 3rd, in the year of our Lord 2008
Mitt Romney is a liar, plain and simple he is a liar! He is and has been lying about his own dismal record and he is and has been lying about Mike Huckabee’s record. And why shouldn’t you vote for a liar? Well, it may come to that in the general election, but not in the Republican primary. And while I will be the first to say that each of the Republican candidates has managed to represent himself in the best possible light, two of the candidates, Romney and Giuliani have distinguished themselves as two unmitigated lairs. With Giuliani it isn’t a problem since I know of not one evangelical Christian who plans on voting for him anyhow. But with Romney, it is a problem for he has duped many Christians, he is looked upon by many in the Christian community as being a pro-life, pro-traditional family Christian and not the pro-abortion, pro-radical homosexual cultist that he is. Make no mistake about this, Romney is not a Christian just as Mormonism is not a Christian religion, he is a cultist and it is a cult. They deny that God the Father, God the Son(Jesus) and God the Holy Ghost are one God, the Trinity! And why should we avoid voting for a known liar? ...

A hearty Congratulations, a thanks, and an invitation.

Luke 14:7-14 Friday, January 4th, in the year of our Lord 2008
Well the count is in, Iowan Christians and Patriots have spoken loud and clear and they have given Pastor Mike a whopping 34% of the vote. So, Congratulations Pastor Mike and thank you Christians and patriots in Iowa. To many of us, the ideal dream ticket would be Rev. Mike Huckabee and Dr. Ron Paul. So, let me be the first to invite Dr. Paul to the fold.
Dear Dr. Paul,

...

And God said: Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Matthew 19:3-6 Wednesday, January 9th, in the year of our Lord 2008
All to often we hear what others claim a person said. Since endorsing Rev. Mike Huckabee for President, I have received a comment or two. At times the comment is based upon he said that she said that he heard that someone said that so and so thinks they heard this that and/or another thing. So today we are going to look at what two men have to say about marriage, one directly and the other in a letter to the radical left wing homosexual Log Cabin Republicans. No hypo-bole, no quotes, only what they each said.Governor Huckabee in his sermon on marriage to the Thomas Road Baptist church in 2006 and Governor Romney’s letter of praise and thanks to the homosexual Massachusetts Log Cabin Republicans.  First I want you to go and read Governor Romney’s letter: The Romney letter. Now, go listen to Governor Huckabee speak at Rev. Jerry Falwell’s Thomas Road Baptist church in 2006: Mike Huckabee's marriage sermon Dr. Falwell’s introduction of Governor Huckabee starts 33:50 in. ...

Why do you believe man, deny the word of Christ, yet call yourself a CHRISTian?

2 Timothy 3:16&17 Friday, January 11th, in the year of our Lord 2008
Abraham didn’t have vaccines, he didn’t eat GMO foods, or GE foods, yet he lived to be 175 years old. He didn’t eat rapeseed. Those who wish to poison you call it canola, yet Abraham lived to be 175 years old. And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years. Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people. And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre; (Genesis 25:7-9 ACP/KJV) Abraham fathered Ishmeal when he was 67, Issac when he was 100, and fathered sons and daughters till he was 175, all without viagra, vaccines, and miracle drugs...

Kill'em all, let God sort them out

Deuteronomy thru 2 Chronicles Monday, January 14th, in the year of our Lord 2008
A huge difference between me and George Bush, most of his predecessors and I’m sure those who will follow him, even Mike Huckabee, is the way they fight wars versus the way I would fight wars and the way they deal with crime versus the way I would deal with crime. When each of the Republican candidates, in NH, were asked what basic principles he would base his government upon. The only one that gave an answer to the question, that actually indicated that he had heard, understood, and was willing to answer the question, was Gov. Huckabee, his answer was, after quoting much of the preamble, the Constitution of the United States. My answer would have been the Bible would be the basis I would make moral judgements and the Constitution the basis for my legal judgements, that I would try to never violated the written word of either.

"The next thing on God's prophetic clock is rapture"

Dr. Jimmy DeYoung 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10Tuesday, January 15th, in the year of our Lord 2008
Not many Saturdays ago I was listening to Dr. Jimmy DeYoung’s radio show Prophecy Today. At the conclusion of his show he said that there was nothing left between now and rapture on God’s prophetic clock. Now many of us have felt that and thought that for some time, but to have an undisputed expert on Bible prophesy and especially end times prophecy say it is makes it so much closer to fact. Having Dr. DeYoung say that the next thing to happen prophetically is Rapture adds a whole new dimension to the shortness of time that remains for us to reach out to the unsaved. First we need to look at Second Thessalonians chapter one, and then we will move on in chapter two. Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you. Are you being troubled? If not, how come? ...

Four bucks a pound for grapes?

Deuteronomy 28:49-60a Wednesday, January 16th, in the year of our Lord 2008
Earlier today I went to the grocery store for my wife, not one of these little high priced palaces, but a great big higly competitive chain, Hannaford Brothers. She needed a couple of pounds of grapes for a teachers meeting after school. $3.99 a pound, Three dollars and ninety-nine cents a pound for grapes, give me a break. Folks we are in trouble here, $4.00 a gallon for milk, $4,00 a pound for grapes, $2.00 a loaf for bread, $3.20 a gallon for gas to get to work, $3.20 a gallon for heating oil to heat your house, $3.70 a gallon for diesel fuel to get the gas to the station, the heating oil to your house and food to the market. And you think the warnings in the Old Testament are just for the ancient jews? Wake Up! ...

You will know them by their fruits

Matthew 7:20 Thursday, January 17th, in the year of our Lord 2008
In Matthew 7:20 Jesus says “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them”, have you ever pondered who the “their” and “them” is? Both their and them in the original Greek is the word autos, pronounced ow-tos' it is from the particle au and is the reflexive pronoun self, used as the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons:--her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which. Whew, that’s quite a mouthful isn’t it, but the bottom line is that the words “their” and “them” are quite clearly you, me and every man woman and child on earth. Now, the easiest one(s) to recognize by this are preachers. A true God fearing, Christ inspired and serving preacher is going to preach Christ and through Him salvation He is also going to live a life that reflects Christ, His commands, his teachings and His very life. But, while it is easy to identify who is truly serving Christ in the pulpit by this saying, it also applies to ...

Sometimes out of the mouth of babes comes great wisdom and ideas.

Hebrews 13:2 & Zechariah 4:6b Friday, January 18th, in the year of our Lord 2008
Recently I have had a burden on my heart to do the Gospel of John with commentary, much as I did the forty days of the family and the Book of Revelation. Well, God willing, I will be starting that this coming Monday and it will be a five day a week series until it is done. The question, how to transition into the Gospel of John, well that has been happening, believe it or not, over the past several weeks. But for the last of the general thought categories, before going into John, I was at a loss. Then, yesterday morning I had one of those all too rare opportunities to talk to Steve for more than a moment or two. Later that day I found an e-mail from him that struck me rather hard. This morning after much pondering, my wife finally found her verse for this year, although I have yet to find mine. Many of you would insist that it is 2 Chronicles 7:14. I would have a hard time arguing that, for that verse has been a guiding light to me now going on three maybe four years. Let’s start with Steve’s email: ...

Jesus is God, John leaves no doubt of that fact.

Introduction to the gospel of John Monay, January 21st, in the year of our Lord 2008
Tomorrow we are going to start a verse by verse, chapter by chapter, day by day study of the Gospel of Christ according to and as written by the beloved Apostle John. As I go through the Gospel of John, I pray that I will be able to do both the final proofing of the complete Gospel of John ACP/KJV and do a commentary that is open, honest, politically incorrect and authentic. These plans can and will be accomplished only with the help of the Lord Jesus and the guidance of the Holy Spirit of God. ...

John Chapter One 1-18

John 1:1-18 Tuesday, January 22nd, in the year of our Lord 2008
1 In the beginning was the Word(Jesus), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The Same(Jesus) was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by Him(Jesus); and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In verses 1-3, John is not simply saying that Jesus was with God when God created the universe by speaking it into existence, no, John is very clearly saying that it was Jesus who spoke the universes into existence. Therefore what John is saying is that Jesus is God. Look again at verse 3, All things were made by Jesus, nothing that was made or brought into existence was brought into existence by any other than Jesus, for all things that were created were created by Jesus. ...

John Chapter One 19-51

John 1:1-51Wednesday, January 22rd, in the year of our Lord 2008
19 And this is the record of John(the Baptist), when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who art thou?” 20 And he(John the Baptist) confessed, and denied not; but confessed, “I am not the Christ.” 21 And they asked him, “What then? Art thou Elias(Elijah)?” And he saith, “I am not.” “Art thou that prophet?” And he answered, “No.” I love these 3 verses, picture if you can the Levites and priest sent to question John the Baptist by the Sanhedrin, the high mucky mucks of the Jews. They have no idea what is going on or where in the world this guy, John the Baptist, came from. All of a sudden they have this guy running around yelling “Make straight the way of the Lord” and baptizing and the people are in love with him. And John the Baptist is playing them like a fine violin, they ask by guessing, and he says “no, try again.” ...

John Chapter Two 1-11

John 2:1-11Thursday, January 24th, in the year of our Lord 2008
1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: 2 And both Jesus was called, and His disciples, to the marriage. 3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto Him, “They have no wine.” 4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? Mine hour is not yet come. This is the third day of Jesus ministry starting with the day He was baptized back in 1:29-34. The second day was the day that Jesus got His first four Apostles, Andrew, Peter, Philip and Nathanael. Now Jesus, the four Apostles and his disciples along with Mary, the Lord’s mother went to a wedding. Mary asked Jesus to make some wine, Jesus does not refer to her as mother, but as woman. The word woman is the Greek word “gune”, it is pronounced goo-nay' and is a word used to depict a woman of honor, such as a mans wife or other very special woman. Yet, it is not as honorable as using the word Mother. ...

John Chapter Two 12-25

John 2:12-25Friday, January 25th, in the year of our Lord 2008
12 After this He went down to Capernaum, He, and His mother, and His brethren, and His disciples: and they continued there not many days. 13 And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, 14 and found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: One the first day of Jesus’ ministry He was baptized (John 1:29-34), on the second He was joined by the first Apostle, Andrew who went and got Peter (John 1:35-42). On day three Jesus went into Galilee and Philip, and Nathanael joined Jesus and became Apostles (John 1:41-51). On day four Jesus went to the wedding in Cana (John 2:1). ...

John Chapter Three 1-6

John 3:1-6Monday, January 28th, in the year of our Lord 2008
Now we enter 21 of the very most important verses of the entire Bible, 6 of which we will cover today. For upon these 21 verses we base our faith in the fact that we must be Born Again Christians Washed clean in and by the Blood of the Lamb of God, Christ Jesus. We must be true Born Again Christians in order to get into heaven and avoid eternal damnation. 1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto Him, “Rabbi, we know that Thou art a teacher come from God, for no man can do these miracles that Thou doest, except God be with him.” 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God! ...

John Chapter Three 7-15

John 3:7-15Tuesday, January 29th, in the year of our Lord 2008
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, ‘Ye must be born again.8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Here in verse 7 we see Jesus, for the second time, saying a man has to be born again, but this time, He adds in the word “dei” which is translated properly as “must” as in “Ye must be born again.” Jesus could obviously see the confusion on Nicodemus’ face, so He continues explaining how by comparing being Born Again to and earthly act that Nicodemus and anyone can and should understand, the invisible wind. ...

John Chapter Three 16-21

John 3:16-21Thursday, January 31st, in the year of our Lord 2008
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him(Jesus) should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Ever since God created the world, He has loved not only the world, but every living creation in it and on it. God did not create the world and man to be apart from Him. God created a perfect world so that man, who was the utmost of His creations (God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (...

John Chapter Three 22-36

John 3:22-36Friday, February 1st, in the year of our Lord 2008
22 After these things came Jesus and His disciples into the land of Judaea; and there He tarried with them, and baptized. 23 And John also was baptizing in Aenon(a place of springs of water) near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized. 24 For John was not yet cast into prison. In verses 1&2 of John 3, we saw the meeting of Jesus and Nicodemus, in verses 3-21 we saw Jesus explaining to Nicodemus and us the absolute importance and necessity of being Born Again. Now in verses 22-36 we will see a change of focus to John the Baptist explaining the rise of the Christ and the decline of the heralder. ...

John Chapter Four 1-12

John 4:1-12Monday, February 4th, in the year of our Lord 2008
1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, 2 (Although Jesus Himself baptized not, for it was His disciples who baptized,) 3 He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee. 4 And He must needs go through Samaria. When you look at verse one, can you start to see and understand the intense hatred the Pharisees had for Jesus. This hatred was due, not to a misunderstanding of who Jesus was, but their desire not to give up their positions of power and respect. They of all people could have, as did Nicodemus, seek out Jesus and the truth, but they choose instead to let their hatred fester and seal their own doom. How many liberal denomination preachers are the same? How many of them refuse to surrender to the Lord for fear of losing the respect of men, fear the losing of their pensions, their money, their prestige. I have come to love the title Reverend before my name and despise all others, other than Mr. ...

John Chapter Four 13-26

John 4:1-12Tuesday, February 5th, in the year of our Lord 2008
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. Who ever drinks of the water from this well, will be thirsty again in a short time, as is natural, but whoever drinks of the well of the Holy Spirit that Jesus will give to whom He will, shall never thirst again. On the one hand Jesus is talking about plain old well water, but the water He is talking about giving is the Holy Spirit. One who receives the Holy Spirt never has that longing to fulfill something again. For that hunger theat feeling of emptiness that all have till they have the Holy Spirt, till they are Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians, is satisfied once they are given the holy Spirt by the Son of God. One of the best indicators of salvation is the sense of peace one has concerning eternity. Once a man, woman, or child becomes a true Born Again Washed clean in the Blood of the Lamb Christian, they no longer have a nagging emptiness, and loneliness. ...

John Chapter Four 27-32

John 4:27-32Wednesday, February 6th, in the year of our Lord 2008
27 And upon this(meeting of Jesus and the woman) came His disciples, and marvelled that He talked with a woman: yet no man said(to her), “What seekest Thou?” or(to Jesus), “Why talkest Thou with her?” Put yourself in the place of one of the Lord’s disciples, as you approach the Lord, you see Him talking to a woman. Now that in itself would be quite something, for at that time it was very unusual for a man to be talking to a non related woman in a private one on one meeting. But here come the disciples and imagine the look on the face of that Samaritan woman. For this conversation between Jesus and the woman had just taken place, maybe less than five minutes before. The woman said to Jesus, “I know that Messiah is coming, He who is called the Christ: and when He is come, He will tell us all things.” Then Jesus says to her, “I, that speak unto thee, AM.” And that is the scene the disciples returning to the Lord saw. They must have been almost as shell shocked as she was, for it appears that they, including Peter and Thomas were tongue tied. ...

John Chapter Four 33-42

John 4:33-42Thursday, February 7th, in the year of our Lord 2008
33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, “Hath any man brought Him anything to eat?” 34 Jesus saith unto them, My food is to do the will of Him that sent Me, and to finish His work. While the Disciples, the students of the Lord are concerned with the food of the belly, the Lord is concerned with the food of the soul. The work Jesus is talking about finishing started way back in the beginning, found in the book of Genesis let us look at but two of the many things the Lord is talking about finishing. ...

John Chapter Four 33-42

John 4:43-54Friday, February 8th, in the year of our Lord 2008
43 Now after two days He departed thence (from Samaria), and went into Galilee. 44 For Jesus Himself testified, that ‘a prophet hath no honour in his own country.’ 45 Then when He was come into Galilee, the Galileans received Him, having seen all the things that He did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast. After spending two days preaching to the Samaritans, where so many had come to believe on Him, Jesus returned to Galilee, the area in which He was raised. He returns to an area that He Himself says “A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and in his own house....

John Chapter Five 1-18

John 5:1-18Tuesday, February 12th, in the year of our Lord 2008
1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. (This marks the end of Jesus’ first year of ministry.) As you may remember back in John chapter one and two, Jesus started His ministry just 3 or 4 days before the Passover, this is now one year later. ... What we have here is one of the greatest pitfalls of relying upon commentary and not researching Scripture for yourself. Look, eternity is a long, long time, ...

Limbaugh and Hannity can no longer be trusted.

John 15:18-25Wednesday, February 13th, in the year of our Lord 2008
First let me say that I am not happy that I have been put in a position where I have to interrupt the series on the Gospel of John. But, what Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and other talking head pundits have done this year is not only beneath contempt and disgust but requires a Scriptural response as well. They have, in my humble opinion, proven who it is that they serve, and it is not the God of truth, but the father of all liars. There was a time when one could turn the dial to Rush Limbaugh and/or Sean Hannity and expect to hear the truth. There was a time when listening to either got you an honest evaluation of individuals and especially candidates. That has changed, as both have proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that they can and will lie to prevent a true servant of Christ from occupying the oval office. While I am disappointed in both of these legends in their own minds, I am especially upset at and disappointed in Rush Limbaugh. I would not have believed that he would sink to the level of vicious lies ...

John Chapter 5:19-24

John 5:19-24Thursday, February 14th, in the year of our Lord 2008
Before I start today’s study in the Gospel of John, I would like to ask you to take on a prayer request. Yesterday I asked Steve to post the thought “Limbaugh and Hannity can no longer be trusted.”, on Freerepublic.com. Earlier this morning I visited the post and was appalled at the replies. What I read has me concerned for the safety of Rev. Huckabee. Please pray for his safety and the safety of his family and staff. Already the IRS has gone after a Southern Baptist Pastor, Pastor Willy Drake in California for having the gall to endorse Pastor Mike. Please pray for Pastor Drake and his church as well. Now, let us get to the Gospel according to John.19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He seeth the Father do: for what things soever He doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. 20a For the Father loveth the Son, and ...

John Chapter Five 5:25-47

John 5:25-47Friday, February 15th, in the year of our Lord 2008
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the *dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that *hear shall live. 26 For as the Father hath *life in Himself; so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself; 27 And hath given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of man. *dead, The Greek word used for dead is “nekros” it means both literally and figuratively dead, so Jesus is referring to those who are spiritually dead as well as those who are physically dead. *hear, the Greek word used, that is interpreted “hear” is “akouo” and means to hear and understand. * life, “ zoe” literally means life and the ability to give and/or extend life....

John Chapter Six 1-27

John 6:1-27Monday, February 18th, in the year of our Lord 2008
1 After these things Jesus went over the *sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias. 2 And a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His miracles which He did on them that were diseased. (*The Sea of Galilee, known to Israelis as Lake Kinneret, is only 13 by 7 miles. It is one of the most well-known bodies of water in the world. And it was on these shores that Jesus preached and performed miracles. Capernaum, home to at least 4 of the 12 Apostles, is on it's shore.) ...

John Chapter Six 28-40

John 6:28-40Wednesday, February 20th, in the year of our Lord 2008
28 Then said they unto Him, “What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?” 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him(Yeshua) whom He(Yahweh) hath sent. How many of us ask the same question today, “What works can I do to earn my way or work my way, into heaven?” And Jesus’ answer is the same today as it was back then. “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God....

John Chapter Six 41-58

John 6:41-58Friday, February 22nd, in the year of our Lord 2008
41 The Jews then grumbled at Him, because He said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. 42 And they said, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that He saith, I came down from heaven?” The Jews of then, like non Christians today, will, regardless of the facts, regardless of the miracles, continue to find any and every thing to hang onto, in order to avoid accepting the fact that Jesus is God. They will ask Christians to pray for them, ask God to bless them their families and their country, yet they will avoid, at all cost it seems, turning their life over to Him. They of then like those of today continue to think that they can have it both ways, salvation without repentance, salvation without turning themselves over to the Lord. Heaven without becoming Born Again. Or by redefining Born Again to meet their own needs and desires.

John Chapter Six 59-71

John 6:59-71Monday, February 25th, in the year of our Lord 2008
59 These things said He in the synagogue, as He taught in Capernaum. 60 Many therefore of His disciples, when they had heard this, said, “This is a harsh/severe saying; who can understand it?” Over the past 1,970 years men and women have been trying to understand exactly what Jesus meant when He said “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, ye have no Life in you. Whoso eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is meat indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He that eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, dwelleth in Me, and I in him.” And we, in the last 400 years have had not only the best interpretations available but thousands of pages of commentary and learned study as well. But those men who followed Jesus at the time had no such luxury, what they had was Jesus and their ability to hear, see and remember. They had no written copy to go back to. It is no wonder that they were wondering, who could understand what the Lord was talking about? ...

John Chapter Seven 1-20

John 7:1-20 Tuesday, February 26th, in the year of our Lord 2008
1 After these things (all that Jesus had done in the first 2 3/4 years of His ministry) Jesus walked in Galilee: for He would not walk in Judaea, because the Jews sought to kill Him. 2 Now the Jews' *feast of tabernacles was at hand. 3 His brethren(half brothers, Mary’s sons by Joseph) therefore said unto Him, “Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that Thy disciples also may see the works that Thou doest. 4 For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If Thou do these things, shew Thyself to the world.” 5 For neither did his brethren believe in Him. The feast of Tabernacles is a seven day feast about 6 months before the Passover, this would be about 6 months to the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus. Leviticus 23:34-36 explains the feast. (Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD. On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.) At the time of the feast of Tabernacles, the priest would carry water in gold vessels into the temple for the first six days, they carried no water on the seven day. Keep this in mind when we reach verses 37. ...

John Chapter Seven 21-31

John 7:21-31 Wednesday, February 27th, in the year of our Lord 2008
21 Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and you all marvel. 22 Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision, not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers, and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man. 23 If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, so that the law of Moses should not be broken; why are ye angry at Me? Is it Because I have made a man 100% whole on the sabbath day? 24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. As we read verses 21-23, we see that no matter what we say, the Lord knows the truth. Back in verse 20 and 19b we saw the people try to lie to the Lord. The people said, “Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill Thee?” in answer to Jesus asking them “Why go ye about to kill Me? ” Yet we know that these same people in just six short months will be yelling “Crucify Him, crucify Him!” and here we have Jesus asking them why it is that they will not violate the law of Moses when it comes to circumcising an eight day old baby boy, by mutilating him in his private parts, yet they condemn God Himself for healing, curing and raising from the dead on the Sabbath?...

John Chapter Seven 32-53

John 7:32-53 Friday, February 29th, in the year of our Lord 2008
32 The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning Jesus; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take Him. It is time to talk a little about the Pharisees. They were the group of Jews who were strict adherents to the commentary written by man, on God’s law as given to Moses. They had lost sight of what God had said and instead replaced it with what those who wrote the commentaries, plain men, not God inspired men, knew that God really meant to say. They were men who considered themselves to be the Jews of the Jews, as Paul said while describing himself before King Agrippa in Acts chapter 26:

I'm going to take a few days off.

Tuesday, March 4th, in the year of our Lord 2008
Then came Jesus to His disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. (Matthew 26:45 ACP/KJV expanded)Jesus told them to take their rest because He know that after He was crucified and after He ascended up into heaven times would get tough. He knew that we who preach would suffer a type of burnout. I have been spending between 4 and 6 hours a day working on the Gospel of John, now that I am one third through it, I am going to take this week off. But there are some things I would like you to think about, and pray about during this week....

Give thanks

Wednesday, March 5th, in the year of our Lord 2008
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (1Thessalonians 5:18 ACP/KJV) Some of you may remember that around the first of the year I put up a small announcement looking for someone to refinance my house for around $100,000 or so. Now I’m going to tell you what that was all about. Last year, as most of you know, my daughter in law died, leaving my eldest son with a house, payments, and a three year old daughter. Quite a handful for anyone, but for men there are no support groups, so Dan’s mom and I offered to spend a year helping him and Kellie get back on their feet. I had figured that it would be easy for me to get a job working in a church, after all, I am somewhat qualified to fill just about any position in a church, from pastor to janitor. No luck, not even an interview. So, I figured I could work in the secular world ...

John Chapter Eight verses 1-11

John 8:1-11 Monday, March 10th, in the year of our Lord 2008
1 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. Jesus went unto, which is to, not into which would be into a cave or a hole, indentation or the such. He went to the mount of Olives, a place He seemed to favor for rest and prayer....

John Chapter Eight verses 12-24

John 8:12-24 Tuesday, March 11th, in the year of our Lord 2008
12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I AM, the Light of the world, he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. What Jesus is saying here is that He is God, He clarifies this by saying, He is the Light of the world. What does He mean by the light of the world? Around 98 AD Jesus gave John one of the greatest pleasure ever, He allowed John to not only see heaven, but to see the future as well. John then came back to earth and wrote the Book of the Revelation of Christ Jesus, aka the Book of Revelation, the last book of the Bible.

John Chapter Eight verses 25-36

John 8:25-36 Wednesday, March 12th, in the year of our Lord 2008
25 Then said they unto Him, Who art Thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning. 26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but He that sent Me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of Him. 27 They understood not that He spake to them of the Father. As they asked again, “who are You?” do you think that perhaps Jesus wanted to just shake His head and wonder how the glorious creation He had made in His own image had ever gotten so dumb? You think the public schools are putting out mind numb robots today, imagine what they were producing 1,975 years ago. “Who art Thou?” They had to be either kidding or as dumb as today’s abortionist, evolutionist and those who stand on the side of the road with signs that read “Peace, war never solved anything.”...

John Chapter Eight verses 37-45

John 8:37-45 Thursday, March 13th, in the year of our Lord 2008
37 I know that ye are Abraham's offspring. But ye seek to kill Me because My word hath no place in you. In the original 1611 KJV the word “offspring” is translated as “seed”, since we now know that the singular seed, refers to Jesus, they could not be the seed, but are indeed offsprings of Abraham. Jesus is the seed, the jews are the offsprings or decedents. The original word in the Greek is “sperma”, and is properly defined as something sown, such as a seed which would include the male "sperm" therefore by implication, it would be Abraham’s offspring(s) or descendants. ...

John Chapter Eight verses 46-59

John 8:46-59 Friday, March 14th, in the year of our Lord 2008
46 Which of you *convinceth Me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe Me? 47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. *notice that word “convinceth” It is much more than simply convicts or is able to convince. It is, in the Greek, “elegcho”, it is pronounced el-eng'-kho and it means to confute, to admonish, to convict, convince, prove a fault, and rebuke. It is not just one of those definitions, the definition is made up of all; to confute, to admonish, to convict, convince, prove a fault, and rebuke. ...

John Chapter Nine verses 1-23

John 9:1-23 Monday, March 17th, in the year of our Lord 2008
1 And as Jesus passed by, He saw a man which was blind from his birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?” This is a question we never hear today, but maybe it is one we might want to ask ourselves at times. Can a child be a warning or even a curse to parents because of their behavior or deeds? How many children are born with serious birth defects because of drug use by either or both parents? How many children are conceived by parents having sexually transmitted diseases resulting in the child being born blind, lame, crippled or mentally retarded? Yes, we might, at times look at a child and ask God “Master, who did sin, this child, or it’s parents, that it was born like this?” ...

John Chapter Nine verses 24-34

John 9:24-34 Wednesday, March 19th, in the year of our Lord 2008
24 Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, “Give God the praise. We know that this Man(Jesus) is a sinner”. 25 He answered and said, “Whether He be a sinner or not, I know not. One thing I know, that whereas I was blind, now I see.” 26 Then said they to him again, “What did He to thee? how opened He thine eyes?” 27 He answered them, “I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be His disciples?” The leaders of the Jews, the ones who really hated Jesus are now backed into a corner. They have a man who was blind, everyone knew it, and they have no explanation for it. So they try tricking the man, they say to him, “Give God the praise”. Now if they had left it at that, they would have been fine, but they had to get their dig in so they added. “We know that this Man(Jesus) is a sinner.” I believe they felt that by having prefaced it with “Give God the praise”, that they might have trapped the man who had been blind into saying, “yes, praise God.” and by doing so, by neglect, agreed with them on the important part, to them, “We know that this Man(Jesus) is a sinner....

John 9:24-34 Thursday, March 20th, in the year of our Lord 2008

John Chapter Nine verses 35-41

John 9:35-41 Friday, March 21th, in the year of our Lord 2008
35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? 36 He answered and said, “Who is He Lord, that I might believe on Him?” 37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen Him, and it is He that talketh with thee. 38 And he said, “Lord, I believe”. And he worshiped Him. Are you starting to see what big news Jesus and all He did were in Jerusalem? No sooner had the man who had been blind and was given his sight by the Lord, cast out by the Jewish religious leaders, than this city of over a million, was abuzz with the news. Jesus who knew all things, ask the man a question, it is a question that He already know the answer to, but He ask it so that the man will have the opportunity to make a decision and a public confession.

John Chapter Ten verses 1-13

John 10:1-13 Tuesday, March 25th, in the year of our Lord 2008
1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth into the sheepfold not by the door, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief(satan) and a robber(devils). 2 But He that entereth in by the door is the Shepherd of the sheep. 3 To Him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear His voice: and He calleth His own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. Do you see that word “sheepfold”? Because it is followed by “the door”, it is often times thought to mean a place where sheep are kept. But, that isn’t what it means, sheepfold as used in verse one is translated from the Greek word “probaton,” it means a gathering of sheep. So it is, in this instance not a place where Christians are kept, but the body of Christians that make up the church. He who comes where Christians are, are here divided into two. First are those who come into the body of Christians to lie and try to deceive. True Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians will know that they are not to follow such. The other who enters in is Christ, who knows our names, calls us and we follow Him where ever He would have us to go. ...

John Chapter Ten verses 14-30

John 10:14-30 Wednesday, March 26th, in the year of our Lord 2008
14 I am the Good Shepherd, and know My sheep, and am known of Mine. 15 As the Father knoweth Me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down My life for the sheep. Jesus is the Good Shepherd, we who are Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians, are His sheep. He knows us and we know Him. Daily in the local, national and world wide news the proof of this statement is shown over and over again. Wars, drugs, rape, incest, adultery, etc, etc, etc. But we who are His are secure. For by the very blood of the Lord God of Creation are we freed and bought....

John Chapter Ten verses 31-42

John 10:31-42 Friday, March 28th, in the year of our Lord 2008
31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. 32 Jesus answered (responded to) them, Many good works have I showed you from My Father; for which of those works do ye stone Me? This answer is one we should ponder. For Jesus could have said: “so, you want to play with stones huh? Ok, let me show you what the Creator of the Universe can come up with for stones. You throw that stone and I’ll throw a ten ton meteor.” But He didn’t. Instead He said, “Are you stoning Me for giving sight to the blind? (chapter nine)” “Are you stoning Me because I healed the crippled man at the pool of Bethesda? (chapter five)” “Let me guess, you’re going to stone Me because I fed 60,000 people with a handful of bread and a couple of fish? (chapter six)” “No, so which of the good works, that I did in the name of the Father, are you stoning Me for?” ...

Only a miracle can save the USA now!

Friday, April 18th, in the year of our Lord 2008
It has been some 45 years since the governments of the United States went on the attack against Christ. Now Christ is starting to fight back. And now we cannot turn and say God help us, for it is God who is causing the attack on us. Throughout the Old Testament we see God attacking the false gods of a people. And so it is now. Our national gods of money, leisure, sex and pride are under attack. Our god of money is becoming worthless we are, at present, seeing the worst inflation since the infamous Jimmy Carter. We are on pace to see a 20% inflation this year. ...

Then what would you do with your TV?

Exodus 20:2-18 Friday, May 2nd, in the year of our Lord 2008
I was wondering just how to do this thought so as to have the most impact, then I decided, impact should be left up to the Lord, I’ll just bumble on through it as I always do. Let me ask you a question or two, do you have a televison? Do you rent movies? Do you own movies? Do you ever go to the movie theater or to the life theater? What if you decided that from this time on you would watch no televison show, no movie, no entertainment or ad that glorified or condoned breaking even one of the Ten Commandments? Would you still need a televison? Would you ever again go to the theatre or movies? What if you said, “from this point on, if it violates , condones, or suggest the breaking of even one of the Ten Commandments I will not allow it into my mind.” ...

Do you mourn?

Matthew 5:4 Monday, May 5nd, in the year of our Lord 2008
There is a theory out there, it goes like this.
God created all things in six days and rested the seventh. He did this, by my reckoning, around 6,400 years ago. The Apostle Peter said: “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, saying, ‘Where is the promise of His coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.’ For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water. Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished. But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same (W)word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. ...

Do you mourn?

In twelve years, this is only the second or third time.

Monday, May 7nd, in the year of our Lord 2008

In the last twelve years of American Christian Patriot, this will be only the second or third time that I would have given the entire thought over to a woman. Today’s thought is from Myra Marstaller, on how she raised her children to fear the Lord.At the service last Sunday night, I mentioned how I thought it near impossible for us today to understand what is meant by “fear the Lord”. Pastor Jim Marstaller’s wife Myra said that she had taught her children, from a very early age, how to fear the Lord every time she had to discipline them. I then asked how she did that and why she thought she had taught them to actually fear the Lord, as the word fear was meant in the original tongues. She explained and I said. “Myra, in the past twelve years I have only made this offer once or twice, once to Cecily and once to Janice Burzlaff, I do not like giving up my space on Christianpatriot.com, but, I will. If you would like, I’ll give Wednesday’s thought over to you if you will write up what you have just told me.Fear ye the Lord, by Myra Marstaller wife of Pastor Jim Marstaller. ...
