What does it mean to be a Christian? Let us first look at who were first called Christians. Starting with Acts chapter eleven.

Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only. And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus. And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch. Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord. For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul: And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. (Acts 11:19-26 ACP/KJV)

So, who were these first Christians? They were men and women who understood and knew that Jesus was the Christ. That God had promised that He would come to earth, shed His blood unto death, and arise again unto life at the end of three days. How did they come to that realization? They came to it by trusting that every word in Scripture was of God, the understood and believed this: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (2 Timothy 3:16) And this: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2 Peter 1:20&21)

Today, A Christian is one that accepts every word in the bible, starting with In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Straight through to The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. As the absolute word of God and makes every effort to comply with every word within those pages.

So, what about you, are you a Christian? Are you a Born Again Washed in the Blood of the lamb Christian? One of the easiest test is this, do you put the Lord first in your life? Would you die for Him? Would you suffer for Him? Does He answer your prayers? Do you read His book, the Holy Bible? Do you test everything you hear by checking it against His word, the Holy Bible?

Remember what Jesus said: No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. (Matthew 6:24)

No, you can not be both, you are either a Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian, or one destined for an eternity of pain and suffering in the lake of fire with your god satan. You either believe the Bible or you don't.
