Can a Born Again Christian use deadly force and if so, under what set of circumstances

Once again Christians have died at the hands of one who serves Satan. This is becoming an all too real and all too oft repeated fulfilling of the words spoken by our Lord and Savior Jesus. Two thousand years ago, around 30 AD or so, the disciples of the Lord asked Him this question:

Matthew 24:3 And as Jesus sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? (KJV)

And Jesus said to them:

Matthew 24:4-9

4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in My name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

Mark 13:9

9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony against them.

Luke 21:11-12

11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. 12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for My name's sake. (ACP/KJV)

Jesus warned us that this, the things we are seeing today would come. I guess most of us were just praying that it wouldn't come in our lifetimes. Oh how much simpler life was before 1973. But, today it is, and the killing of Christians is now happening. Not just in the USA, but throughout the world as well.

Christians in China are rounded up, put in prison, shot in the head and their kidneys and other body parts harvested and sold all over the world. Not for having committed any crime, but only because they are Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians.

Christians in the Sudan are routinely rounded up and sold into slavery to Muslim owners under the official and ruling Muslim government. Christians in Egypt have been crucified, there only crime being, that they have given their lives to the Lord.

Christian areas of Iraq have been devastated by American and British bombers, not because they live on military bases, they don't, no just because they are Born Again Christians, a thorn in the side of both Iraq and the US/British governments.

Christians in the USA have been attacked by government agents like the IRS and murdered by police agents and assassins of the BATF, FBI and US Army. Waco, Oklahoma City, Ruby Ridge, and a host of other smaller, less reported incidents. Killers who have dedicated their lives to Satan have singled out and murdered young Christians in schools throughout the country. On Wednesday September 16th, 1999 the killings moved into the Church, with the slaughter of 9 Christians while they prayed. Killed by a deranged gunman while he screamed satanistic anti Christian blasphemous rhetoric.

So, where does that leave us as Born Again Christians? Can we use deadly force to protect one another? Can we use deadly force to protect others? Can we who preach, use deadly force to protect those we preach to? The answer to every one of the questions above is YES, BUT.

Yes, you can use deadly force, for you will not loose your salvation by taking a life in defense of yourself, your family, your congregation or even a stranger in your midst.

BUT. Before you go out and buy yourself a .50 cal sniper rifle, there are a few things you should keep in mind before pulling the trigger or even unholstering a gun.

In order to demonstrate these things, I'm going to put to you, a few cases for your consideration.

What if you were to be coming home and you notice a commotion inside your house. You look in and your wife, son and daughter are on their knees praying to the Lord while a BATF agent is holding an uzi at their heads, screaming at them to renounce Christ or die. Do you shoot this deranged, but for the BATF normal, federal agent?

How about this, you're walking up to your brother's house and you see your nephew doing drugs and having a homosexual relationship. Suddenly it turns nasty and his homosexual partner pulls out a knife and lunges at your nephew. Do you intervene and shoot the attacker to save your nephew?

And one for Pastors. It's Wednesday night, you have twenty of the true faithful in your church or home praying and studying the Word of God, when suddenly a person comes in shooting and yelling. Do you take him out?

In each case the answer is the same, yes you can shoot and kill. But, should you? Each has to answer that question for themselves. Let's look a little closer at the results of the action of shooting or not shooting.

A BATF agent is going to shoot your family if they don't renounce the Lord. Two things to keep in mind here. One, you kids and wife are on their knees praying to the Lord, they are Saved. If the BATF agent kills them they go straight into the hands and arms of the Lord. If you shoot the agent, that agent goes straight to hell!

Let's look at the second case. Your nephew is undoubtably not Saved, he is doing drugs and having a homosexual relationship. But then again the attacker isn't Saved either. If you shoot the attacker you send him to hell! If he kills your nephew, he sends your nephew to hell. Should you pray for Gods guidance and forgiveness and pull the trigger?

But, pastors, what about question three? I know what I would do, or at least I think I do. But what you should or shouldn't do, I can not say. But I will say this, if in that prayer meeting you have one or two that have not accepted the Lord yet and been Born Again or if you have a few you're not sure about, you might want to consider doing something. For if they are killed before accepting the Lord, then Satan gets their souls for all eternity.

The bottom line is this. When you pull the trigger, you are not only killing that person, you are probably sending them straight to hell. For the chances of a Born Again Christian doing the attacking is almost non existent.

But, keep in mind this, your pulling the trigger is not a salvation issue for your soul. For the Lord Himself has told us:

Mark 3:28-29

28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: (ACP/KJV)
