So, do you believe God or not? Thursday August 29th, 2002
That's not such a hard question to answer. Or is it? In his second letter to Timothy, the Apostle Paul tells us: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Timothy 3:16&17)
Let's see now, Paul said that ALL SCRIPTURE, not the just the Scripture you like, is given by God. That means that everything from the "In the beginning..." of Genesis 1:1 to the "Amen" in Revelation 22:21 has been dictated by God to those whom He entrusted with the writing of His word the Holy Bible.
Now, let's go back to the original question, "do you believe God or not?". You can lie to me, you can lie to your family, your friends and even the courts, but you can not lie to yourself or God. And the bottom line is that in His word, the Holy Bible, God has given us everything we need, to know if it is Him we belong to and serve.
He that believeth on the Son of God (Jesus) hath the witness (Holy Spirit) in himself:
he that believeth not God hath made Him (God) a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of His Son. (1 John 5:10) And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon Him (Jesus), and a voice (God's voice) came from heaven, which said, Thou art My beloved Son; in Thee I am well pleased. (Luke 3:22)
So, Scripture tells us that Jesus is the son of God, it tells us that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost are one and the same. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. (1 John 5:7)
And, don't forget, those who don't believe all of the Scriptures, the entire Holy Bible, make God out to be a liar? So, if you don't believe everything written in the Bible, you are calling God a liar.
So, do you believe God or not? If you do, look at what He tells us, who believe on Him, to do. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God (the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost), and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous.
But, these are His commandments:
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:19&20)
And Jesus said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Mark 16:15&16)
and A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. (John 13:34)
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (From John chapter 3)
If you believe in God, and believe that He tells the truth, then you must know that you have to be a Born Again washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian in order to go to heaven. You also know that you have to put other Born Again washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians ahead of yourself.
So, what have you done recently for the Lord, by doing something for His? Have you presented the Gospel to anyone recently? Have you given up anything for the Lord and His recently? How about ever? Do you even have a bumper sticker on your car or truck that announces to the world that you are Christ's?
Remember the words of James, the half brother of the Lord: What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, "Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled"; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believes that there is one God; thou does well: (but) the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? (James 2:14-20)
Did not the Lord do good works? Did not the Apostles do good works? What about the martyrs? Did they not do good works by their very deaths to bring the Gospels to you? So, what is your excuse? And just what are good works? love one another; as I have loved you, preach the gospel to every creature, and Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:
The Lord our God, Messiah Yeshua, the Christ, be with you all. Amen.
