Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, whew, what a roller coaster ride of emotions.

Wednesday September 25th, 2002

On Monday, Mac's granddaughter, Crystal was born. On Tuesday I did a funeral service for Evelyn, a 79 year old woman, and this morning I am waiting for my eldest son Danny to call, for his wife is at this very moment in the hospital preparing to deliver their newest daughter, Kelly.

Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it!

Except the LORD keep the city, the watchman watches in vain!

It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for He giveth His beloved sleep.

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is His reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. For happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate. (Psalm 127)

For, yes, life begins at birth and ends at death. From the time a baby is born till the time of death, many things happen, many changes take place, yet there is only one thing of importance. And that one thing is how that person addresses the salvation offered him or her by the Lord Jesus, the Christ, God Almighty.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Hebrews 9:27)

Suddenly, at the micro second that a person dies, he finds himself standing before God Himself. At that moment, what that person had spent his entire life doing means nothing, only one thing counts, and that is what they did with the gift the Lord God Creator of all things gave to each and every person on earth so freely, His Blood, His offer of salvation. If the man said yes to Christ, then he will hear "Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:" but, to those who were to smart, to sophisticated, unconvinced, unsaved, they will hear this "Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:"

When a baby is born, I am reminded of these verses, as am I again at every funeral. I don't know what course in life Evelyn took, nor do I know what course in life little Crystal and Kelly will take. Evelyn died before I ever got a chance to preach to her or even pray for her, but Kelly and Crystal will be in my prayers.

Lord I thank you for being with Crystal as she was born, and I ask You to be with Kelly as she enters this world also. I also ask You Lord to open the eyes of both sets of parents, helping them to understand that it is only with Your help that they will be successful in raising Kelly and Crystal.

God blessed America when she feared Him, now it appears, she may face His wrath.
