Christ suffered for all.
Weekend of November 23rd & 24th, 2002
Senator Tom Daschle of South Dakota has publicly stated that he sees no sign that we are winning the war against terrorism and terrorist. Now many of you might laugh at the Senator, but I would ask you to instead pray for him. For it becomes more and more clear with each of his statement that he is losing touch with reality. And a person with no sense of what is right or wrong, up or down, has very little chance of finding a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus, the Christ.
Have we been successful? Well, I would have to say we are clearly winning, for each and every night on the nightly news with some of the most anti USA commentators in the world, we see US forces destroying terrorism, capturing prisoners and releasing more detailed information that stops additional attacks. And that stopping of more attacks on our soil is the clearest indication that we are winning. For when the forces of evil can not even recruit their suicide/homicidal bomb carriers to attack within our borders, you know we are winning. Oh that is not to say we are out of the woods, no not by a long shot. But, look at the attacks on Israel, they have now had over eighty attacks carried out by suicidal homicidal maniacs, yet we have had but one.
Why? Why have the terrorist been so willing to attack Israel, yet, since we went to war against them, so hesitant to attack us? Simple, with us, they know they can not win, run or hide. Israel would be hard pressed to fight outside of her borders for more than a day or two, we on the other had have not only the ability to attack anywhere in the world at any time we choose, we have the power to tell the rest of the world to stay out of it and mind their own business. What Senator Daschle fails to comprehend is that just our Nuclear Submarine force is ample power to warn off the rest of the world while we hunt down and destroy those who would harm us. This failure to understand, on the part of the Senator, is ample reason to assume he has or is in the process of losing his mind.
Jesus tells us that we should pray for the likes of Senator Daschle:
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; (Matthew 5:44)
Not laugh at him, not tell snide jokes about him, but pray for him. For while, as the majority leader of the US Senate, he did everything in his power to aid and abet our worst enemies, siding more often than not with the terrorist, Senator Daschle is a sick and spiteful man and needs our prayers.
Why do we pray for the Senator? Have you ever looked at the man the Lord chose to replace on the cross? There are two you should be intimately aware of, yourself and Barabbas. Let us look at Barabbas, for you will find him to be much like Senator Daschle:
And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas. (Matthew 27:16) Barabbas was a notable prisoner. Are not US Senators notable, is not the majority leader the most notable of the lot?
And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection. (Mark 15:7) Barabbas was an insurrectionist, one who hated and tried to destroy the form of government in existence at the time, he was also a murderer. Senator Daschle hates and has done everything in his power to destroy our Constitutional Republican form of government. There is none in the senate, other than Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins who have been more zealous in covering up and protecting the horrible murderous slaughter of the baby in the womb by abortion.
Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber. (John 18:40) And John adds in that Barabbas was a robber. A man who stole other peoples money and property. And who, might I ask, do you think give the IRS, BATF, FBI and the rest their authority?
Yes, Barabbas and Senator Daschle have more in common than not. Therefore, we are commanded by the Lord to pray for him, for as Christ died for you and me and Barabbas, He died so that Tom Daschle could also have the chance to find Him and receive salvation too.
Remember, the Lord did not come into the world to destroy the world, He came to give everyone a chance to find salvation.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
He that believeth on Him is not condemned:
but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
And this is the condemnation, that Jesus is come into the world, and men loved satan rather than Jesus, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the Jesus, neither cometh to Jesus, lest his deeds should be reproved.
But he that doeth truth cometh to Jesus, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. (From John 3:16-21)
If Christ shed His blood for you, me and Barabbas, how can you think He wasn't thinking of Tom Daschle as He hung on that cross also? But not just Daschle, all of our troops who are putting their lives on the line this very day, we need to keep them in prayer, for what a shame it would be for even one of our guys to have to spend eternity with satan and his slaves, because he refused to choose Christ.
The Lord be with you all.
God blessed America when she feared Him, now it appears, she may face His wrath.
